OneDrive is a personal cloud storage service of up to 5TB as part of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/digital-technology-services\/service-catalogue\/office-365\"> University&#8217;s Microsoft 365 offering<\/a>, that allows you to access your files on and off campus in the same way, and also to share your files with colleagues at the university. OneDrive is not recommended as the main storage for data that is routinely processed on RACC or RRC, but if needed, users can transfer data between OneDrive and their research storage using the<a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/act\/knowledgebase\/linux-storage-to-onedrive\/\"> web browser GUI<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/act\/knowledgebase\/managed-file-transfer-mft\/\">MFT (Managed File Transfer)<\/a> service to share files that are hosted on Unix drives (research storage, home directory). MFT has the option to provide access to a directory in your storage to external collaborators, who can download and optionally also upload data from or to this shared location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Transfer files from outside the university<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/act\/knowledgebase\/managed-file-transfer-mft\/\">MFT (Managed File Transfer)<\/a> service. You can connect via command-line or via the web interface.<\/li>\n<li>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/act\/knowledgebase\/arc-ssh\/\">arc-ssh<\/a>. This will require using two factor authentication first. It is a standard ssh service with rsync, scp and sftp. You can also use it to access SMB (Windows ) shares; they are mounted at \/dfs\/&lt;username&gt;. Read<a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/act\/knowledgebase\/transferring-research-data-to-and-from-uor-systems\/\"> this article<\/a> if you want to transfer files using arc-ssh.<\/li>\n<li>If you are using <a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/act\/knowledgebase_category\/desktops\/\">NX remote desktop<\/a> and you are connecting with the full client (not the NX webplayer), you can map your local and remote drives.
