We have put together some common issues that users have experienced when using ARC services to connect off-campus<\/a>. If you have trouble connecting, check that it’s not caused by the common issues mentioned below.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ACT-SSH<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Older versions of MobaXterm can cause problems with ssh key authentication. If you want to set up ssh keys with MobaXterm, such as outlined in our step-by-step guide<\/a>, please make sure you’re using a up to date version of the software.<\/li>\n
  2. Connections to act-ssh or mft are timed out when you are connected to the VPN. If you want to use act-ssh, please make sure that the VPN is disconnected.<\/li>\n
  3. If you are connecting from a mac via terminal and can’t see any graphics display despite using the -X\/-Y flag in your ssh command, check that you have a recent version of the XCode tools installed, which enables X11 graphics forwarding on macs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Remote desktops<\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. Home WiFi connection might make the remote desktop less responsive. If possible, try using a network cable to see if it improves the situation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
