Ongoing desk-based research: the ALO has set up a ‘live’ data-base of research projects and development interventions in the period since 2019 in eight African countries, viz. Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa. This captures the funding bodies, the amount of funding, the objectives and scope of the project, and the duration of the intervention. This data-base will be made available on this website in due course.
The ALO has also commissioned ‘state-of-the-art’ research reports on ‘livestock production’ in three countries, namely Zimbabwe, South Africa and Tanzania. These reports will be uploaded here as soon as they have been formatted and badged and will be available for free download. They will serve as a basis to stimulate discussion on the contents and the direction of travel in respect of the broad parameters affecting livestock production in each of these countries. They will be followed by similar reports in a further five countries. The intention is that all of these reports will be edited and submitted for publication in suitable journals.
