Initial funding from the University of Reading’s Global Development Research Division to scope the need for an initiative of this nature, to undertake desk-based research into existing livestock interventions on the African continent, and to write a zero draft business plan.
Subsequent funding: University of Reading internal ODA-funding to establish the African Livestock Observatory; for Andrew Ainslie to travel to southern and East Africa (in Oct 2024 and Mar 2025 respectively) to network with relevant parties, and to commission ‘state-of-the-art’ reports on livestock production.
