The table, which measures UK universities by their environmental and ethical performances, placed Reading fourth in 2024\/2025 and first in 2023\/2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reading&#8217;s score of 77.1%\u00a0represents\u00a0an improvement from 74% last year, with\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">this year\u2019s marks\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">highlighting the University\u2019s particular progress in Carbon Reduction and Managing Carbon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Professor Robert Van\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">de<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Noort, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading, said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;Since we topped this table in 2023, it is really good to see that many universities have raised their game on sustainability. After all, caring for our planet is in everybody&#8217;s interest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;Our continued strong performance reflects the determination of our staff to push further on sustainability and environmental action. Our new Net Zero Carbon Plan shows\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0serious about cutting emissions over the next decade and beyond, targeting reductions in our supply chain, student accommodation, and international travel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;As we celebrate our centenary in 2026, we&#8217;re proud of our environmental achievements, but we must continue leading on climate action to shape a better world for the next 100 years.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span
