Faith Orchard<\/a>, one of our final year PhD students gave a great presentation on the 17th March about her work on cognitive biases in adolescent depression. Faith described how CBT is recommended for adolescent depression but does not seem to be as effective for this age group. Faith\u2019s results showed that negative thinking biases do occur in adolescent depression, and that they match what is seen in adult literature. She concluded that her work indicates that CBT is appropriate for adolescents, but may need to be adapted. Faith also suggested that future research could use the measures she developed to ensure that these negative biases are being reduced by the treatments.–><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
