She also provides supervision, consultancy, and training for health and education professionals and voluntary organisations. Elaine is the Co-Founder of Divergent Perspectives, an online training platform providing training on neurodivergent-affirming support. Elaine is a trainer with the National Autism Trainer Programme for staff supporting Autistic children, young people and adults in mental health settings in NHS England.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, in 1996, Elaine worked in the NHS in Northern Ireland, until 2021, as clinical lead speech and language therapist in Child Development, Surestart, and Autism Services. She is passionate about supporting non-speaking and semi-speaking autistic children and young people. She believes that everyone who cannot rely on speech alone to be heard and understood should have access to robust Augmentative and Alternative Communication options without barriers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>The Centre for Autism Wellbeing Hub<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Wellbeing Hub is a new initiative, funded by University of Reading Alumni.
