The Centre For Autism Wellbeing Hub is delighted to welcome Warda Farah for our June Webinar. Warda’s talk is titled\u00a0Manifesto for Metamorphosis<\/em>, a personal conversation about building your own framework for living in systems that were never designed for you.<\/p>\n

Warda will explore adaptation culture; the pressure to optimise, mask, improve, and constantly seek external guidance, and question whether all this \u201cbe normal” messaging actually teaches us to distrust ourselves.<\/p>\n

Drawing on the work of Dr Tasha Austin, Dr Mildred Boveda and Aim\u00e9 C\u00e9saire , Warda reflects on what it means to reclaim authorship over your own life.<\/p>\n

About Warda:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Warda Farah is a Speech and Language Therapist, Writer and Lecturer. Her work sits at the intersection of Race, Language and Disability. Her approach is guided by her own experiences as a neurodivergent Black woman. Whilst wearing many hats ultimately her work aims to centre Black Joy.<\/p>\n

About the Wellbeing Hub:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Wellbeing Hub is a new initiative, funded by University of Reading Alumni. The aim of the Hub is to bring together autistic people, their families, practitioners and researchers to co-produce and deliver neurodiversity-affirming activities that support autistic young people and their families to thrive and flourish.<\/p>\n
