Our projects advance the field of Beckett Studies, and demonstrate the relevance of Beckett\u2019s work to twenty-first century issues and debates. These include, for instance, climate change, health, education, disability, violence, trauma, minority identities, migration, and \u2018post-truth\u2019 politics.<\/p>\n<p>The Centre is home to a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/beckett\/about\/people\/\">network of scholars<\/a>\u00a0who are recognised around the world for their work on Beckett. They take part in TV and radio programmes, community outreach, publishing, and conference talks. Their research also makes use of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/beckett\/the-beckett-collection\/\">Beckett Collection<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the largest archive of Beckett materials in the world.<\/p>\n<p>There\u00a0is also a thriving\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/beckett\/about\/postgraduates\/barp\/\">PhD and early career researchers' group<\/a>\u00a0(BARP), which plays an important and dynamic role in the Centre's research activities and community. The group has so far organised three successful international conferences, with over 50 delegates in attendance. The conferences, 'Beckett and Europe' (2015), 'Beckett and Politics' (2016) and 'Beckett and Italy' (2019), foreground some of the Centre's predominant research focuses.<\/p>\n<p>The Centre hosts various academic programmes, and facilitates collaborative research and teaching\u00a0initiatives led by world-class Beckett specialists from the following departments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>English Language and Literature<\/li>\n<li>Film, Theatre &amp; Television<\/li>\n<li>Modern Languages &amp; European Studies<\/li>\n<li>Philosophy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Beckett's works and manuscripts are included in a number of core and specialist undergraduate and taught postgraduate\u00a0modules across\u00a0departments, with students often choosing to pursue their interests in Beckett through further postgraduate study.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:tadv\/classic-paragraph --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Centre promotes\u00a0research\u00a0on Beckett that is international, cross-disciplinary, and collaborative.
