I am currently developing a project on Beckett\u2019s literary geographies using digital mapping. I am also interested in the work of Donald Davie, Harold Pinter, John Lodwick and Elizabeth Bowen.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>BOOKS<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Samuel Beckett and the Second World War<\/em><\/strong>, Bloomsbury Academic, 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2018<em>Samuel Beckett and the Second World War<\/em> is not only an excellent book; it is a necessary one [\u2026] Davies\u2019s is revaluative criticism at its most enlightening.\u2019\u00a0\u2013 Marjorie Perloff (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomsbury.com\/us\/samuel-beckett-and-the-second-world-war-9781350106833\/\">link<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This deep and original re-examination of Samuel Beckett\u2019s experience in occupied France during World War Two is a revelation, a book that opens so many new vistas onto Beckett\u2019s creative breakthrough, and the gestation of <em>Waiting for Godot<\/em>, <em>Endgame<\/em> and the post-war prose.
