The Samuel Beckett Research Centre (SBRC)\u00a0at the University of Reading\u00a0is pleased to announce that\u00a0up to 3\u00a0SBRC Visiting Research Fellowships are now available to\u00a0scholars and researchers\u00a0looking to conduct research and shape a new project drawing on Samuel Beckett\u2019s life, works and\/or legacies, and the University of Reading\u2019s Beckett collections.<\/div>\n
Fellows are expected to develop their research into an application for an externally funded grant, fellowship, or partnership using\u00a0UoR\u00a0collections, supported by SBRC members of staff. You will be appointed\u00a0an appropriate mentor(s)\u00a0to work with as part of your Fellowship.\u00a0The Co-Directors of the SBRC are also open to working\u00a0with Fellows\u00a0on collaborative research grant bids involving the Centre.<\/div>\n

Applicants should be close to completing, or have completed, their doctorate. Fellows will receive an allowance of up to \u00a32,000 (subject to UK tax and national insurance) and a\u00a0dedicated workspace, if\u00a0required. Fellows will have access to curatorial and grant-writing support. The appointments can be taken up flexibly between March and July 2026, with mutually agreed start and end dates, to support those with caring and other responsibilities, but all expenses must be\u00a0submitted\u00a0by Friday 10th July 2026.<\/div>\n
