Our expertise is primarily in plant and animal ecology, but all of our research is developed collaboratively within this wider multi-disciplinary context. Within the University we are acting as the focal point to promote greater integration across the\u00a0Food<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Environment<\/a>\u00a0research themes, and externally we work with a wide range of organisations and individuals within the UK and Overseas.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Simon Potts<\/h3>

Simon is Professor of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services at the University of Reading.<\/a><\/span>
\nOver the last 30 years he has worked closely with researchers, industry and policymakers on pollinator conservation and the management of pollination services in Europe, Africa, Asia and North and South America.<\/span>
\nHe chaired the IPBES\u00a0\u201cPollinator, Pollination and Food Production\u201d<\/a>assessment.<\/span>

Deepa Senapathi<\/h3>

Dr Deepa Senapathi is a Research Fellow at the University of Reading<\/a><\/p>\n

Her research focuses on the impacts on environmental change on biodiversity and ecosystem services. She has worked in both tropical and temperate systems exploring the impacts of climate change and land-use change on insect pollinator communities as well as bird populations. More recently she has started working on knowledge exchange with different stakeholder communities including land managers, conservation organisations, delivery agencies and policy makers, aimed at improving land management for biodiversity conservation and enhancing ecosystem services.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Michael Garratt<\/h3>

\"\"Dr Michael Garratt is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Reading.<\/a>
\nHis research focusses on invertebrate ecology in the agri-environment and primarily the impacts of farming practice and land management on the ecosystem services of pest control and pollination underpinning crop production. He has worked in a number of cropping systems in the UK and overseas including arable, soft fruit and top fruit production. His research is applied and often industry funded.

Tom Breeze<\/h3>

\"\"Dr Tom Breeze is a Research Fellow at the University of Reading<\/a><\/p>\n

His work focuses on the economic and social impacts of ecological changes and the impacts of management. Tom has worked closely with a number of stakeholders, including DEFRA, the EU and the UN to highlight the human costs of biodiversity losses and the cost-effectiveness of conservation and monitoring programmes. Tom\u2019s current work aims to map the value of pollination to farming across the UK at a fine scale, allowing for a more focused approach to pollinator conservation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
