{"id":23,"date":"2018-05-25T09:16:14","date_gmt":"2018-05-25T08:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/bees\/?page_id=23"},"modified":"2019-05-08T16:23:17","modified_gmt":"2019-05-08T15:23:17","slug":"public-engagement","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/bees\/public-engagement\/","title":{"rendered":"Public engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our researchers, both staff and students, regularly engage with the public through\u00a0<span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px;\">outreach activities,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px;\">the media\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px;\">and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px;\">collaborations with industry and public sector organisations.\u00a0 As well as hosting outreach activities we also participate in various events throughout the year<\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px;\">\u00a0such as the Chelsea Flower Show and Glastonbury.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/news-archive\/press-releases\/pr643934.html\" class=\"broken_link\">In 2015 we helped the Royal Mail create a new set of special stamps celebrating British bees<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalmailgroup.com\/en\/press-centre\/press-releases\/royal-mail\/royal-mail-issues-special-stamps-illustrating-the-beauty-of-british-bees\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-229 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/bees\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/Unorganized\/Bees-stamps-300x158.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"701\" height=\"369\" srcset=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/bees\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/Unorganized\/Bees-stamps-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/bees\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/Unorganized\/Bees-stamps-768x404.jpg 768w, https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/bees\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/Unorganized\/Bees-stamps-1024x539.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 701px) 100vw, 701px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our research has featured on several BBC programmes including Panorama, Horizon, Farming Today as well as local TV and Radio.
