Dr. Diogo C. Soriano has a BSc in Electrical Engineering (2004) from State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, an MSc in Biomedical Engineering (2007 – UNICAMP) a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (2011 – UNICAMP) with contributions to nonlinear dynamics and signal processing analysis. Dr. Diogo is an Assistant Professor of biomedical engineering at the Federal University of ABC (Sao Paulo – Brazil). His research interests focus on solutions for medical diagnosis, therapy and assistive devices by means of an integrative approach of nonlinear dynamics analysis, classical signal processing and computational intelligence with applications to EEG-based Brain-Computer Interfaces, analysis of atrial fibrillation and deep-brain stimulation. During his stay as an academic visiting researcher at the Brain Embodiment Laboratory he will focus on analysing the neural mechanisms underlying motor activity for Brain-Computer Interfaces using recurrence analysis and dynamic functional connectivity.
