In coastal towns and villages they are often viewed as pests, but not everyone sees them in this way.<\/p>\n<p>Borth resident, Naomi Salmon, describes how, several years ago, she nursed back to health a herring gull chick that fell off her roof. She said about her photograph: \u201cI like to think that this confident gull may be the one we cared for after he\/she came off the roof too early. He is totally calm but \u2018intense\u2019 when I chat to him out of my bedroom window.
