I am very excited to have been part of this project which has utilised an innovative method to estimate sex in archaeological individuals by extracting peptides from teeth.<\/p>\n

This is particularly exciting for fetal-infant research as this paper has proved that not only do the methods work on adults, but non-adults too, including very young fetal-infant individuals.<\/p>\n

Being able to accurately sex non-adult individuals has been something bioarchaeologists have long been pondering and to date, has been a very problematic and inaccurate science. Thus, to be able to do this for any individual (who has at least one tooth present) is fantastic!<\/p>\n
