The Strategic Partnership between the British Museum and the University of Reading was established in 2018. This exciting partnership is designed to encourage new research into the British Museum collection, and increase access to it for academics, students, and the public.
Our joint research projects have been awarded over £4m from funders including the Arts and Humanitis Research Council (AHRC), the British Academy and UKRI Future Leadership Fellowships.
The partnership focuses on the British Museum Archaeological Research Collection, or BM_ARC, a new storage and research facility which is dedicated to housing a large proportion of the Museum’s deep history and ancient world collection.
