In this presentation I will share findings from studies about language learning through audiovisual input that we have conducted for almost a decade. Three are the distinguishing characteristics of these studies compared to other studies in this line of research. First, they are extensive studies, taking place in real classrooms over weeks or months. Second, participants have included, not only young adults (university students), but also adolescents and primary school learners. Third, the foci of these studies include vocabulary, comprehension, grammatical constructions, pronunciation, and pragmatics.
