We are delighted to announce the two successful candidates for our Visiting Research Fellowship awards for 2022-23: Dr Silke K<\/span>\u00f6<\/span><\/span>rber <\/span><\/a>and Dr Aleksandra Wieczorkiewicz<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Applications were invited from scholars looking to conduct research and shape a new project drawing on the University of Reading\u2019s Archives and Special Collections relating to book and publishing cultures. Priority was given to projects focussed on collections in the Archive of British Printing and Publishing<\/a>, the\u00a0East German Studies Archive<\/a>, or the\u00a0Lettering, Printing and Graphic Design Collections<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fellows are expected to develop their research into an application for an externally funded grant or fellowship, using UoR collections, supported by CBCP members of staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Silke K<\/span>\u00f6<\/span><\/span>rber joins us from the Vienna Circle Institute and will be working on a project using the Otto and Marie Neurath Isotype collection, entitled \u2018Visual Thinking for a Modern Knowledge Transfer: Epistemic Status, Aesthetic Value and Historical Development\u2019. Dr Aleksandra Wieczorkiewicz is\u00a0a researcher in a Polish National Science Centre project (Half a Century of Children\u2019s Literature in Poland\u00a0<\/i>and will be drawing upon the children\u2019s collections to work on a project entitled \u2018Translator\u2019s Own Paper?
