Join us for this screening of the short film, Heilig<\/em>, which interviews the Austrian Jewish Kindertransportee Gerhard Heilig and tells the story of his father, Bruno, who survived two concentration camps before finding refuge in England.<\/p>\n

An introduction by Dr Ellen Pilsworth (Lecturer in German, University of Reading) and Q&A with film-maker Steven Hatton will explore how Bruno and Gerhard\u2019s stories represent different aspects of Britain\u2019s response to the Nazis’ persecution of Austrian Jews.<\/p>\n
