By placing a sample in a strong magnetic field and applying radio-frequency pulses, NMR is able to manipulate magnetic moments of nuclei, particularly hydrogen (\u00b9H) and carbon (\u00b9\u00b3C),\u00a0 but also others such as fluorine (<sup>19<\/sup>F) or phosphorous (<sup>31<\/sup>P), which in the recorded signal reveal detailed information about the molecular structure and interactions.[\/vc_column_text][vc_basic_grid post_type=&#8221;post&#8221; max_items=&#8221;10&#8243; element_width=&#8221;3&#8243; order=&#8221;ASC&#8221; item=&#8221;672&#8243; grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1763656357229-53e9a350-0438-8&#8243; taxonomies=&#8221;24, 25, 26, 27&#8243;][vc_column_text]The NMR instruments in CAF can conduct wide range of solution (HR-NMR), intact gels\/tissues (HRMAS) and solid-state (MAS) NMR experiments. CAF offers both a routine automated service as well as the potential for collaborative\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/caf\/nmr-spectroscopy\/nmr-expertise\">NMR expertise<\/a>\u00a0to scientists throughout the University and external users.<\/p>\n<p>Our superconductive magnets contain large amounts of cryogenic liquids and operate at high magnetic fields.
