I visited UPM as consultant for the project named &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/km.upm.edu.my\/kmportalweb\/infox\/assetDetailAction.action;jsessionid=T7L5Vw1F2BNGgdXMFZQPJNqr87dmK6QR26nctN12MpTQyyJyKsGf!-591775654?execute=view&amp;assetId=000106643&amp;actionFlg=alllist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Effects of bilingualism and multilingualism on grey matter volume in the brain of the Malaysian bilingual and trilingual speakers<\/a>&#8220;, which is led by Associate Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/profile.upm.edu.my\/ntyap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ngee Thai Yap<\/a>, in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/psychology\/about\/staff\/j-d-saddy.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doug Saddy<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/psychology\/about\/staff\/t-marinis.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Theo Marinis<\/a>. In the past five days I was given the opportunity to meet the group behind the project, kick start the MRI testing by scanning the first participants at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ppdn.upm.edu.my\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pusat\u00a0Pengimejan Diagnostik Nuklear<\/a>, and discuss future directions for this research. My schedule also included a presentation about\u00a0my own research, and also a lecture and a practical workshop on the analysis of brain grey matter data with Voxel-Based Morphometry. In all, this has been\u00a0a very productive week- and did I mention that I was absolutely spoilt by the Malaysian hospitality?<\/p>\n<p>So thank you for everything Ngee Thai, Shameem, Mei and Bee.
