The Art Critic Study (MCPLAS)

We’re looking for male adults (aged 16+) with or without autism and with normal or corrected-to-normal vision to participate in our neuroimaging study.
In this study, you will first be screened to ensure you are eligible for MRI (brain) scanning, and then complete a series of questionnaires about your demographic details and your thoughts and beliefs.
If you’re eligible, you will be invited to participate in the MRI portion, which consists of several standardised cognitive tests outside the MRI scanner (which will take about 1.5 hrs) and a task done in the MRI scanner (which will take about 1 hour). For the MRI task, you have to predict whether an art piece will receive a high or low rating from an art critic.
Successful completion of this 2.5 hour study will result in a reimbursement of 3 SONA credits (if preferred, for PCLS Psychology students) or a payment of £25 + travel expenses.
If you’re interested or for more details, please do not hesitate to email Dr Jia Hoong Ong at jiahoong.ong@reading.ac.uk.
