About me<\/strong><\/h3>\n
Research area: Tackling health inequalities and social determinants of health, particularly through developing a food system that enables everyone to access a culturally appropriate, healthy, sustainable, affordable and enjoyable diet. Also to improve the quality (nutritional value, appearance, flavour and shelf life) of horticultural crops to support consumers to make healthy dietary choices.<\/div>\n
Other roles: Chair BBSRC Sustainable Agriculture and Food Strategy Advisory Panel; REF2021 sub-panel member for UoA6 (Agriculture, Food and Veterinary Sciences); External advisor to Defra UK National Food Security Report 2024; Co-Chapter Lead (Land, Nature and Food) for UK Climate Change Risk Assessment 4; Research England Expanding Excellence in England assessment panel member; UKRI Technology Missions Fund (TMF) Engineering Biology Mission Hubs panel member.<\/div>\n
