Getting out a large lump of hard poo

When the poo is stuck, your doctor will prescribe a large dose of medicine for a short time to get the poo out.
The medicine is a laxative. Laxatives add water to the poo, making it easier to pass. For it to be effective, your child needs to take this medicine every day.
You will need to help your child by:
- keeping them at home and near a toilet
- explaining what will happen
