I specialise in the application of information design principles in cross-disciplinary projects in health and education. My recent work includes communicating information about antimicrobial resistance in community pharmacies in the UK and in Rwanda, and in science communication for children.

Dr Matthew Lickiss

My research focuses on information design, data visualisation, and genres in multimodal document analysis. I work on projects with an emphasis on user-centred design and an awareness of the use context for information. I am interested in working with experts from a range of fields to use information design as a means to support decision-making and contextualise information.

Dr Ravi Kumar

I have been a Consultant Paediatrician at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading since August 2002. I look after all General Paediatric problems from newborn to 16 years, including infant feeding problems; all gastrointestinal problems; urinary problems such as incontinence, and bowel problems, including recurrent abdominal pain, constipation and persistent loose stools.
I have a passion for teaching and training, and I completed a postgraduate certificate in medical education. I am also involved in the teaching, training and assessment of all Paediatric trainees in the Oxford School of Paediatrics.

Dr Deepak Ravindran

I am an ‘upstreamist’ with a trauma informed approach to pain practice. I have over 20 years of experience in Pain Medicine and am Clinical Lead in Pain Medicine at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading UK. I hold triple certification in musculoskeletal, pain medicine and lifestyle medicine. I am also an honorary consultant to the award-winning community Pain service, IPASS, and is the lead for the Berkshire Longcovid Integrated service.
My book “The Pain Free Mindset” is aimed at patients suffering with pain but also immensely useful for all healthcare professionals in understanding all the recent advances around pain management and a scientific evidence based way of managing and overcoming pain.
I developed the research unit for Pain at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and have been involved in multiple collaborations with various departments at the University of Reading to further basic and clinical pain research and education especially focusing on pedagogy around pain.

Nicola Pritchard
I am paediatrician with an interest in paediatric gastroenterology, coeliac disease, nutrition and neonatal medicine. I am a member of RCPCH and BSPGHAN. I have had previous research experience as a principal investigator as one of the study centres for multi-centre neonatal trials.

Dr Josefina Bravo

I am a design researcher and a practising information designer. I am interested in designing memorable, understandable and actionable information for different audiences. I have worked in the areas of health information, education and emergency management. My recent work includes research on the design of user instructions for COVID-19 tests, design of learning materials for primary school children, and design and research of flooding information to support community engagement with flood risk.

Dr Arjun Khara

I am a lecturer and design researcher. My PhD research is on fairness design in digital public documents, specifically government forms. I have worked as an information designer, front-end web developer, and trainer in Singapore, since 2005. My recent work includes conducting communications workshops for governments, businesses, and start-ups in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific. I completed my masters in computer games design at the University of London, before starting a PhD at the University of Reading.
