In March, Frankie Tait (PhD Student) attended the UK Archaeological Sciences (<\/span>UKAS<\/span><\/a>) conference held at the University of Bristol. The conference was kickstarted by <\/span>Professor Richard Evershed<\/span><\/a> who gave an insightful, and at times humorous, overview of his career combining Geochemistry and Archaeology – unlikely bedfellows as he calls them. The conference continued with many high level posters and oral presentations covering topics such as experimental pipe smoking, ancient virus detection and a lot of isotopes! On the morning of the last day, Frankie gave her talk: Assessing the effect of NaOH for humic acid removal in palaeoproteomic analyses of archaeological bone – a great opportunity to receive feedback from peers in the field.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The next UKAS will be held at the University of Oxford 2028.<\/span><\/p>\n
