The group develops intelligent systems capable of interpreting complex visual data, with applications ranging from security to environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"659\" data-end=\"1157\">CVG benefits from <strong data-start=\"677\" data-end=\"709\">significant external funding<\/strong>, including major support from the <strong data-start=\"744\" data-end=\"767\">European Commission<\/strong> and UK national research agencies. One of the group\u2019s core strengths lies in <strong data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"874\">security-focused research<\/strong>, encompassing <strong data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"915\">automated surveillance<\/strong>, <strong>biometrics<\/strong> <strong>and identity management<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"967\" data-end=\"1004\">privacy-aware vision technologies <\/strong>and<strong data-start=\"967\" data-end=\"1004\"> benchmarking<\/strong>. These projects often involve close collaboration with government bodies and industry, addressing real-world challenges in national and public security.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1529\">In parallel, CVG leads a growing <strong data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1220\">environmental monitoring<\/strong> workstream, with particular expertise in <strong data-start=\"1262\" data-end=\"1300\">automated satellite image analysis<\/strong>.
