Sotheby’s is offering the manuscript of Samuel Beckett’s novel Murphy for sale with a guide price of £800,000 to £1.2 million. The manuscript is contained in six notebooks decorated throughout with Beckett’s doodles. Significant collections of the author’s papers are currently held at Trinity College, Dublin, the University of Reading and The Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin.
