The theme of “the politics of location” has been central to the ongoing work of the Diasporic Literary Archives Network, and was the inspiration for the ground-breaking DLAN meeting held in Port of Spain, Trinidad, in 2014.

The next meeting of GLAM (the UK Group for Literary Archives and Manuscripts) will be held at the Hull History Centre on Friday 6 October. In celebration of Hull’s status as the UK City of Culture 2017, the GLAM meeting will explore location and local relevance as a basis for literary collection building. David Sutton will present a global overview on “the politics of location”, drawing on the work done since 2012 by the Diasporic Literary Archives Network.
