On November 3-4, 2025, the Department of Economics at the University of Reading hosted the 3rd edition of the Workshop on Gender Issues and Development.

The event was organised by Neha Hui, Uma Kambhampati, Stefania Lovo, Sam Rawlings and Jade Siu (University of Reading), and Prachi Agarwal (ODI), Eliane Badaoui (Paris Nanterre University), Florent Dubois (University of Turin), Stefania Marcassa (CY Cergy Paris University), and Laurine Martinoty (University of Paris 1).

The workshop featured keynotes talk from: Bishnupriya Gupta (University of Warwick), Climent Quintana-Domeque (University of Exeter) and Christine Valente (University of Bristol). It was concluded by a special session led by Prachi Agarwal from ODI Global on bridging the gap between research and policy to enhance development impacts.

The showcased contributions in the fields of family economics, gender economics, and development economics. It covered six thematic sessions on: firms, domestic violence, social protection, women’s empowerment, bias and stereotypes, and political economy.
