SUMMARY:3rd EDITION OF THE GENDER ISSUES AND DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTION:CALL FOR PAPERS \nThe Department of Economics at the University of Reading is hosting the 3rd editions of the Workshop on Gender Issues and Development on November 3-4\, 2025.  \nThis workshop will feature contributions in the fields of family economics\, gender economics\, and development economics. It aims to create a forum to discuss ongoing\, cutting-edge theoretical and empirical research connecting these areas. \nWe welcome submissions in the following themes: gender and trade; gender and labor markets; marriage and divorce; household time allocation; economics of gender-based and domestic violence; gender gaps and income inequalities; household decisions; gender\, migration\, and remittances; women’s empowerment\, women’s entrepreneurship\, and economic development; political role; demographic economics; social norms\, laws\, policies\, and institutions; economic development and agricultural production. Keynote speakers: \nBISHNUPRIYA GUPTA (University of Warwick)\, CLIMENT QUINTANA-DOMEQUE (University of Exeter) and CHRISTINE VALENTE (University of Bristol) will deliver keynote lectures. \nA special session led by Prachi Agarwal from ODI Global will explore key issues in gender and development\, including gender and trade\, with a particular focus on bridging the gap between research and policy to enhance development impacts. \nFormat – The workshop will be organized in thematic plenary sessions. The workshop will take place at the Whiteknights Campus of the University of Reading. \nSubmission of papers and participation – Researchers interested in presenting their work at the workshop can submit a full paper in pdf format through the following platform HERE. \nThe deadline for paper submissions is July 2\, 2025. \nThere are no registration fees.
