{"id":207,"date":"2019-02-22T22:48:50","date_gmt":"2019-02-22T22:48:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/economics\/?page_id=207"},"modified":"2019-08-06T13:52:50","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T12:52:50","slug":"impact","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/economics\/impact\/","title":{"rendered":"Impact"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 id=\"The-real-world-impact-of-our-work\">THE REAL-WORLD IMPACT OF OUR WORK<\/h3>\n<p>As an applied economics division, the impact of our research is a high priority.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professor Geoff Meen has been appointed as Specialist Advisor to the House of Lords Select Committee on Economic Affairs for its investigation into UK housing.<\/li>\n<li>Associate Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/economics\/about\/staff\/m-DellaGiusta.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marina Della Giusta<\/a> is developing innovative methods for the analysis of student wellbeing.\u00a0Her research has been covered by the Times Higher Education and the BBC. This research has attracted funding from HEFCE as part of the Learning Gain Project.<\/li>\n<li>High-profile research led by Associate Professor Andi Nygaard is examining the effects of migrant communities on social cohesion, particularly concentrating on Slough, UK.
