{"id":646,"date":"2019-06-04T16:05:07","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T15:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/economics\/?page_id=646"},"modified":"2024-01-03T15:37:11","modified_gmt":"2024-01-03T15:37:11","slug":"labour-economics","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/economics\/research\/labour-economics\/","title":{"rendered":"Labour and Household Economics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We undertake a variety of applied research using state of the art econometric techniques and a broad set of datasets for the UK, other developed and developing countries.\u00a0 We focus on a number of topical issues as well as drawing on historical events using both micro and macro approaches.\u00a0 Our current focuses are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Inequalities.<\/strong>\u00a0 We work on various aspects of labour market inequalities, such as earning gaps across different groups of workers (by gender, ethnicity, disability, social class), and unconscious bias in hiring and promotion.
