It is aimed to highlight high quality research of the football industry as well as to facilitate the cooperation between academics and practitioners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Plenary speakers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pamela Wicker (Bielefeld University),<\/li>\n<li>Mario Guajardo (NHH Norwegian School of Economics),<\/li>\n<li>Brad Humphreys (West Virginia University),<\/li>\n<li>James Reade (University of Reading).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"comp-j20xgc25\" class=\"_2Hij5\" data-testid=\"richTextElement\">\n<p class=\"font_8\">Theoretical and empirical research papers that cover the economic, financial, social, and managerial aspects of the football industry are welcome. The list of possible topics includes, but is not limited to: transfer market, discrimination, football league regulations, women football, youth football, tournament design, optimisation of match strategies, corruption, betting, spectators\u2019 demand, financial and social issues of the World Cup, scheduling, referee assignments, and competitive balance.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to attend this conference, which will be online via Microsoft Teams and will also have a local hub presence in Reading in the UK, please register using <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/m6Jxq5GTmm\">this form<\/a>. For that purpose, we ask that contributors submit full text versions of their paper two weeks in advance of the conference, hence on May 12 2022, and do so by sending them via email to j.j.reade@reading.ac.uk.
