However, such schemes often fail to address the central need for parents to have the confidence to support these aspirations. Informed by Professor Fuller\u2019s research, Marvellous Mums helps to empower local parents from socially disadvantaged backgrounds by giving mums the tools to understand their own skills and build lasting confidence.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1825\" src=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2018\/mums-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2018\/mums-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2018\/mums-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2018\/mums.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The project worked with a group of 27 mums from Reading on a 10-week programme to boost confidence through setting goals, focusing on skills, and self-reflection.
