The event is organised by Dr. Holly Joseph<\/strong><\/a>, Dr. Naomi Flynn<\/strong><\/a> and Dr. Anna Wolleb (Bilingualism Matters<\/strong><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\nMultilingual parents and students will read stories and lead fun story-based activities for young children in community languages. The event is open to multilingual and monolingual families and is a celebration of both the diversity of languages in Reading and the great research that goes on at The University of Reading. There will be drinks and refreshments for everyone and an opportunity to ask questions of experts from the University of Reading about how you can best support your child to speak and read in your home language. The sessions will also provide the opportunity for children and parents\/carers to meet other families who share the same home languages in order to strengthen communities and build new friendships. We look forward to celebrating diversity with you!<\/p>\n

This event is organised by Professor Carol Fuller<\/strong><\/a> and Dr. Maria Danos<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\nCarol and Maria hope to share their research and learnings deriving from the Marvellous Mums programme and the 4Ps project<\/strong> <\/a>on working in partnership with parents, with professionals and organisations who work with individuals and communities. A short film on their work (developed specifically for this event) will also be shown together with discussions and activities with the attendees. All Officers are encouraged to attend; we are particularly keen to reach those working closely with parents. Light refreshments will be provided on the day.<\/p>\nThis event is by invitation only.
