{"id":239,"date":"2024-01-15T15:26:33","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T15:26:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/einstein\/?page_id=239"},"modified":"2024-01-20T18:48:30","modified_gmt":"2024-01-20T18:48:30","slug":"objectives","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/einstein\/objectives\/","title":{"rendered":"Objectives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]EINSTEIN\u2019s overarching goal is to increase the demonstrable capabilities and performance of border and police identity checks and document security and fraud detection across a wide range of operational environments by developing, deploying and validating a set of ground-breaking applications.<\/p>\n<p>EINSTEIN&#8217;s main objectives are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>To create a novel applications suite for border and police authorities to enhance phygital (physical and digital) identity checks across the whole identity lifecycle<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>EINSTEIN will <strong>increase<\/strong> <strong>identification and fraud detection capability<\/strong> through <strong>development of a set of innovative interoperable applications<\/strong> addressing phygital dentity checks across the <strong>whole identity lifecycle <\/strong>from breeder document authentication to identity management to identity verification on-the-fly.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Improve core technbologies in phygital identity credentials&#8217; enrolment, management and checks<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Technologies span from biometric robustness against vulnerabilitirs, including Morphing Attack Detection (MAD) and Presentation Attack Detection (PAD), biometric identification, document authentication and fraud detection to digital travel credentials and privacy<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Integrate known and new end-user needs into applications&#8217; design\/development for addressing use cases in a wide range of environments<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>EINSTEIN will ensure that the solutions comply with genuine and up-to-date needs of the end-users in demanding operational environments.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Evaluate applications&#8217; performance and ensure acceptability by all stakeholders<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Performance and acceptability assessment of developed innovations will be established through application deployments in real operational environments by border authorities and law enforcement for a wide range of use cases.
