On Wednesday 13th May 2020, Dr. Grady Walker,\u00a0 a Senior Research Fellow working at the Walker Institute<\/a> and the School of Agriculture, Policy, and Development received a Research Engagement and Impact Award<\/a> for his work using visual methods to empower farmers in Mukono, Uganda.\u00a0 In most cases, the dissemination of information is unidirectional, flowing from agricultural government officers to the farmers. In an effort to address the informational imbalance between the government and farmers,\u00a0 Dr. Grady Walker trained farmers in video production to enable them to share their experiences and opinions and relay them to the district officials.\u00a0 This research was part of the HyCristal project<\/a> and was carried out in conjunction with Climate Action Uganda.\u00a0 More information can be found here.<\/p>\n
