As African countries seek to rebuild their economies after the damage caused by COVID19, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) constitutes the most important instrument to achieve those goals.<\/p>\n<p>The AfCFTA is predicted to bring vast economic benefits to the continent, however, the strengthening of intra-African value chains, increased economic growth, and enhanced human development gains are not the only effects that will define its success.
