[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”913″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The Development Studies Association\u2019s (DSA) annual conference in 2023 will take place at the University of Reading from 28 to 30 June. The fourteenth edition of the renowned conference will be organised and hosted by academics from across the Global Development Research Division.<\/p>\n
The DSA conference is the most important in the field of development studies in the UK and will invite over 500 participants from across the globe to Reading\u2019s Whiteknights campus to discuss and debate new research, approaches and ideas. The hybrid format will also allow participants to join the conference online, making it an innovative and inclusive event.<\/p>\n
In 2023, the conference theme will be \u2018Crisis in the Anthropocene: Rethinking connection and agency for development\u2019 and will discuss how human activity has become a dominant force shaping the global environment and how these impact interact with existing inequalities, threatening significant development reversals. This will provide an opportunity to reflect on what this means for how we live, work and cooperate, how we can respond to new and emerging global challenges, and what Anthropocene thinking adds or detracts from action, policy and practice.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”337″ img_size=”300×300″][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
Dr Alex Arnall, Global Development Research Division Lead<\/strong> and lead organiser of the conference said: “The Anthropocene is producing complex global development challenges that scholarship and research is struggling to come to terms with.
