This workshop, organised by\u00a0Dr Rohan Deb Roy\u00a0<\/strong>(co-director of the University of Reading\u2019s Centre for Health Humanities), examines how biomedicine was received, reinterpreted and transformed in the non-western world in the twentieth century. Through case studies focussing on\u00a0India, Palestine, China and Africa, it traces the various ways in which the medical category of \u2018global health\u2019 was consolidated in course of the last century.<\/p>\n
