There are three teaching and research greenhouses associated with the School of Biological Sciences.\u00a0About 250 different species are in cultivation in all three of our greenhouses<\/p>\n

Tropical Biodiversity Greenhouse<\/h3>\n

The Tropical Biodiversity greenhouse\u00a0is run organically with no artificial pesticides used but active integrated pest management using predators.<\/p>\n

Other Greenhouses<\/h3>\n

A\u00a0second greenhouse is kept frost free and used to maintain temperate plants in growth through the winter to provide class teaching material. There is also a\u00a0third greenhouse which is kept at a minimum of 8o<\/sup>C, again to grow teaching material, but also to house warm temperate species.<\/p>\n
