Myrto Nikolopoulou recently completed her PhD\u00a0 at the University of Roehampton<\/a> (2019). Her research focuses on young people\u2019s online social media practices and their implications to students\u2019 identities and future aspirations.<\/p>\n

Her\u00a0academic\u00a0background has\u00a0been developed\u00a0in the field of Education, by completing her Master studies in Lifelong Learning at the UCL Institute of Education and\u00a0her BA studies in\u00a0Primary School Education\u00a0at the Kapodistrian University of Athens.<\/p>\n

Her research interests have evolved around issues of social inequalities and education. Her master\u2019s thesis\u00a0Adult Education as a means of educating socially vulnerable groups: The\u00a0case\u00a0of\u00a0Greek\u00a0Second\u00a0Chance\u00a0Schools\u00a0(2012)<\/em>\u00a0explored the learning experiences of Greek Second Chance Schools\u2019 students, whereas her PhD thesis is exploring the\u00a0implications of online social media practices among young students from different socio-economic groups.<\/p>\n

Myrto was also involved in the activities of the RISE research centre<\/a>\u00a0at the University of Roehampton,\u00a0as a theme leader in Virtual Pedagogies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
