We are delighted to announce that the IFNH has been approved as one of the University\u2019s new Interdisciplinary Research Centres (IDRC). As announced on the Interdisciplinary Research Centres briefing<\/a>, achieving Centre status is an important element of the University\u2019s research strategy. It will enable us to continue to expand our collaborative efforts that bring together different approaches in innovative ways to tackle the global challenges we are facing today to have a positive impact for future generations. It will allow us to build on our achievements to date and extend our activity both nationally and internationally and broaden our collaborative expertise using a synthesis of approaches.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Professor Ian Givens, Director of the Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am extremely pleased that the IFNH has been selected to be one of the new IDRCs. The IDRCs will represent a critical mass of academic research excellence across more than one research area and this will allow the IFNH to continue our work across the interlocking areas of food, nutrition and health and their interaction with agriculture and the environment.
