INFORM is pleased to announce the opening of its latest funding call for Flexible Mobility Awards.
Flexible Mobility Awards (FMAs) aim to encourage and support mobility between academia and industry within the remit of INFORM.
FMAs will fund up to £40,000 to support early career researchers, technicians, and industry workers who wish to expand their skill base. New skills should be deemed relevant to developing profiles, aiding research growth within the field, broadening collaborations and industrial/academic relationships and gathering evidence from research on how functional foods could support health in practice.
We offer two types of Flexible mobility awards:
- FMA Placements: funding available for Early Career Researchers (ECR) or technical staff from academia wishing to explore work in a company or a private organisation, or staff from industry (including technicians, specialists, engineers, researchers, etc.) wanting to further their career progression through work experience in a public research organisation.
- FMA Impact reports: funding available to ECRs to form and lead working groups to produce an impact document that brings existing evidence together to show the benefits of taking gut-modulating products (pre/probiotics) from already published trials. These documents should ideally include a cost exercise to approximate (based on the data) how much of a saving to the NHS (or to lost days of work) could be made by sections of the population consuming these functional foods.
There is an open application process for FMAs, with applications for 2024 accepted until 5 pm, Monday 30th September 2024. Applications will be reviewed and assessed on a rolling basis every two months from February 2024.
Please feel free to share this information with interested colleagues and associates, and if you have any questions or queries relating to the funding call or the hub’s activities, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
