It has aimed to produce the first intermedial history of Brazilian cinema and to explore intermediality as a historiographic method applicable to cinema as a whole. The project was a collaboration between the University of Reading and the Universidade Federal de S\u00e3o Carlos, funded by AHRC-FAPESP from October 2015 to July 2019. Although our funding has ended, our partnership will continue. It will also explore the uses of intermediality as a historiographic method applicable to cinema as a whole. To that end, it will bring together scholars from the University of Reading and the Federal University of S\u00e3o Carlos, as well as three postdoctoral researchers, combining expertise in cinematic intermediality, Brazilian cinema, film history and film theory.
