Amro Duhduh <\/strong>was born in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, in 1988. He received the B.Sc. degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Jazan University, Saudi Arabia, in 2011, and the master\u2019s degrees in medical laboratory science \u201cBiotechnology track\u201d from University of Rhode Island, RI, USA, in December 2015. He has been awarded a full scholarship from Jazan University, Saudi Arabia to continue his PhD studies.<\/p>\n

On November 2018, he joined the School of Biological Sciences, University of Reading, as a PhD student and he has been with the department ever since. He is currently in his 2nd<\/sup> year working on the project of iron and gut microbiota.<\/p>\n

In his project, he is looking to see the effect of different iron sources, chelators and enhancers on gut microbiota composition. He explored three different set of conditions of iron chelators and sources using in vitro<\/em> fermentation batch culture to mimic the effect of iron on gut microbiota in an in vitro<\/em> set up. He is following his in vitro <\/em>work by an in vivo<\/em> human intervention trial to see the effect of black tea on gut microbiota of healthy adults.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
