He received his PhD in Psychology from Western Sydney University in Australia, and then did a postdoc in the Division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His research interests include learning, language &amp; music, and individual differences. In 2019-20, he worked on the \u2018CAASD\u2019 project, exploring category learning, emotion processing, and mental representation of speech and music in amusia and autism. He is currently working on his \u201cLearningEmotions\u201d project, 887283, supported by an MSCA Individual Fellowship.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Associate Professor Fang Liu<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-241 size-full\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px\" src=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/learning-emotions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/189\/2021\/06\/fangliu.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"212\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.personal.reading.ac.uk\/~jk913059\/\">Fang Liu<\/a> is the supervisor on the LearningEmotions project. She is the Principal Investigator on the CAASD &amp; MAP projects as well as the head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/caasd-project\/\">CAASD Lab<\/a> at the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading. She received her PhD in Linguistics and MS in Statistics from the University of Chicago. Her research aims to understand how the human brain processes pitch information for linguistic and musical purposes during production and perception. Her current areas of research include speech prosody in tone versus non-tonal languages, pitch processing in typical and atypical populations, speech\/music production and perception, and cognitive and neural bases of pitch processing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2>Professor Anastasia Christakou<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-240 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/learning-emotions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/189\/2021\/06\/anastasiachristakou.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"240\" \/> <a href=\"https:\/\/anastasia.christakou.org\/home\">Anastasia Christakou<\/a> is the mentor on the project. She is an expert in the multimodal study of corticostriatal circuits, including their development and implication in psychopathological and neuropsychiatric disorders. She has been awarded millions of pounds in research funding including from the UK Research Councils and the international Human Frontier Science Programme.
