His<span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">\u00a0research focuses on developing hybrid machine learning\u2013process models\u00a0to advance understanding of the terrestrial carbon cycle. He applies differentiable modeling techniques to investigate the coordination of\u00a0plant traits that regulate global carbon turnover and the mechanisms controlling canopy energy balance.
